Electro-deionization (EDI) combines the benefits of both membrane and ion exchange technologies. EDI systems replace conventional mixed-bed technology with many benefits. No regeneration chemicals are needed, no hazardous waste stream is produced, operation is continuous and simple, and facility requirements are reduced. EDI systems can predictably and consistently produce high quality water, normally in excess of 16 Mohm-cm.
