Ultraviolet (UV) systems destroy microorganisms by radiating 254 nm (nanometer) wavelengths UV energy onto DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) and altering the genetic material. The 185 nm energy reduces TOC's level by oxidizing most organics and converting into carbon dioxide, water and lower molecular weight organic compounds.
